Assembly without Mechanism
Developed from Japanese joinery and American millworking techniques, [jnt] is a project which looks at assembly without hardware. Each member serves a purpose, each it tooled to suit that purpose and interface with the larger assembly. No mechanical fasteners are needed, gravity and friction alone hold the final piece together. Assembly can be done by a single person and each component breaks down to a single modular element for ease of transport and assembly.
